Scarce edition of twenty copies containing two additional suites of the 11 graphic works of which 7 are originals by Marcel Duchamp, Albert Gleizes, Marie Laurencin, Jean Metzinger, Francis Picabia, Pablo Picasso and Jacques Villon, and 4 by Georges Braque, André Derain, Juan Gris and Fernand Léger.
This is the first edition containing original works and not reproductions of this pioneering essay on Cubism by two of its representatives, first published in August 1912, before the studies by Salmon and Apollinaire. 4to, (255 x 210mm).
Copy no. 3, one of 20 copies on Auvergne paper, with 2 additional suites of the 11 plates, printed in black and bistre on Japanese paper, in addition to the 11 copperplate engravings in the text for a total of 33 engravings. Loose gatherings in printed wrappers within original portfolio and slipcase, title to spine label.
