Jan Van Imschoot ( Gent 1963 )

The paintings of Jan Van Imschoot often have dramatic, highly narrative themes that give his works an unsettling and morbid athmoshere. A recurrent element in his work is the cynicism and irony typical of Flanders. His motifs, elements, figures and texts have been visibly overpainted to lay bare the creative path that Van Imschoot takes to arrive at the final product.
