Nadia Naveau ( 1975 )

In her oeuvre, sculpttress Nadia Naveau experiments with shapes, materials and use of colour. She takes inspiration for her figurative pieces from magazines, street scenes and television. She uses everyday impressions, travel photos and soldiers' memories, and incorporates them into strange, idiosyncratic iconography. Naveau creates both life-size and miniature sculptures, usally modelling thrm into clay beforehand. She subsequently realises her sculptures in a very wide range of materials such as plaster, ceramics, polyester, concrete or Plasticine. naveau strives to find a balance between Baroque figuration and abstract shapes.
