Boy & Erik Stappaerts is an artist who uses a double name as he thinks that his work is made by one person, divided in two roles: Erik provides the production and Boy is responsible for the artistic concept. Stappaerts graduated from St. Lucas Institute in Brussels and continued his education at the State Academy in Amsterdam afterward. His work, which is located on the border between sculpture and design, offers color to our 'gray' world. Glossy lacquered objects in bright industrial colors show the way between design and sculpture by looking very clean and sterile. Boy & Erik Stappaerts won the 2005 Prize for Visual Arts of the province of Antwerp and had several exhibitions in Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands and in France
